SFTP (SSH) Host Key
SFTP, along with its foundational protocol SSH, employs a mechanism known as Host Keys.
This mechanism allows clients to securely verify, through cryptographic methods, that they are connecting to the intended server (host).
Typically, in SSH, each host is assigned a unique host key, which is generated and linked specifically to that host.
However, in a business-to-business context like SFTP, it is advisable to maintain a single host key consistently over time.
This approach ensures that clients can reliably recognize the service each time they connect.
